Pavilions at Flack Park

2010

Port Melbourne, VIC ∙ Boonwurrung Country

This project is an example of our long-held interest in modular structures. The brief specified five new spectator pavilions for two wind-exposed ovals at Edwin Flack Park, Melbourne Grammar School’s sport facility in Port Melbourne.

The pavilions are simple, transparent shelters, constructed on concrete slabs. Glass screens block the wind, attached to steel columns, which support corrugated-steel butterfly roofs with box gutters. The gutters channel rainwater to subsurface drains around the slabs.
